Corporate Paralegal – Established Global Investment Manager
An established global investment management firm based in Austin, TX, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Corporate Paralegal to join its legal team. The Corporate Paralegal will provide critical support to the firm’s legal and compliance functions, assisting with various tasks related to documentation management, process ownership, and internal/external communication. This is a great opportunity for an individual with strong organizational skills and a keen interest in the investment management industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and manage documentation related to investments (debt, equity), fund compliance (VCOC, select BDC compliance), and process documentation including AML/KYC and UCC filings.
- Assist internal counsel with legal documentation data collection.
- Support internal counsel in managing the operational rhythm of legal processes and reporting, including tracking legal invoices, insurance, UCC filings, and NDA processes.
- Handle reporting requests and inquiries from various departments across the firm, including legal, regulatory, risk, compliance, credit, business development, and finance.
- Collaborate with in-house counsel to correspond with outside counsel or other external counterparties, as required.
- Maintain selected fund-level documentation and legal entity reporting, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in a legal, compliance, or operational support role, ideally in investment management or financial services.
- Experience with documentation management, legal filings, and compliance reporting.
- Knowledge of AML/KYC processes, UCC filings, and fund compliance matters is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external parties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
